She was named after the flower. Knew its translation meant 'SunStar'. Knew she was named after someone famous in her world but did not know them.  She was meant for more than she wanted, what she wanted was to be allowed to float on Dandelion seeds and enjoy the places she was carried off to and as much as the flying, also the journey home, meeting many new and old friends alike, spending time after the mists parted to see her friends only this once a year, to meet up, drink, eat, be merry and to party like she had never known anywhere else. For she was at The Fairelands, where the worlds collide once a year and everyone is allowed in.  FUN was to be had and she was not about to miss it!

This is an update from a picture I had taken of myself many years ago for The Fantasy Faire back in 2015 by ღ Cata ღ  (Catalina Staheli) with a pose and a card that asked Why I relay!  Back then I had lost a few people to Cancer aka The Unweaver.  Now I have lost a lot more 9 years later.  

The effects of Cancer are terrible, to those who have it, to the people who lose family and loved ones and friends to it, and to the people who lose not just people but pets and animals whom they love within.  It affects all people everywhere and there is rarely a life it's black tendrils of ugliness it hasn't reached out to.

My Father has Prostate Cancer, My Mother had leukemia and my Stepfather died of Stomach Cancer and that's just my immediate family.  It is why I am such a huge fan of any Cancer research and supporting it in any way,  I just hope we find a cure in my lifetime!  Keep believing folks, and please keep going to The Fantasy Faire and helping out any way you can!

The Fantasy Faire 2020 - 29 days to go!

A new journey!

For a start - Let's start getting excited about This year's Fantasy Faire with 29 DAYS TO GO until the biggest and best Event in the Second Life Calendar!

The mists shall clear and with all the luck in the lands, The 2020 Fantasy Faire will emerge and appear to us on the 23rd of April and usually disappear around the 9th of May when the mists close back around the Fairelands until the next time.

The Fantasy Faire is not just about shopping from your favourite stores and soon to be new favourite stores and for helping and giving to the biggest cause of our times, American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.  The Magic and events range from The Fantasy Faire Quest, The Fantasy Faire Radio, The Literary Events, The Roleplay Events, The Performance Events and so, so, much more.  They seriously do have to be seen to be believed and pictures, nor tales never do them enough justice.  So plan your Fantasy Faire ahead of time and make it this year's HIGHLIGHT of your Second Life Diary!

The Fantasy Faire in 2019 relayed a massive L$17,043,433 ($68,173) of which 100% goes straight to The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.

If you are in any way looking forward to this year's Faire as much as I am, then be ready to get really excited, as it will be lands of beauty, stores of amazement and scenes of jaw-dropping wowness!

The Fantasy Faire is my favourite event of the Second Life Calendar,  Each year it is filled with such fantastic designers and events that you can lose yourself in the whole event for the full two weeks of events, shopping, browsing and roleplaying.  There is so much going on to enjoy and take part in that it is expanding every year.  Go, see, explore and enjoy!

The following are some links to get you going.  Please have some fun and enjoy the events and throw some lindens into the pots as well as grab yourself some bargains with the SPECIAL Items offered by each vendor for sale for 100% profits going to The Relay For Life.  The Fantasy Faire has now raised over L$8,135,798 ($32,543) for Relay For Life over the last 10 days and we need to keep on going.  Have a look around the website as there are some beautiful stories on there as well as real-life information on the RFL Project that the Fantasy Faire is involved with called KNH HOPE HOSTEL

The mists have started to appear, just waiting on the Fairelands to emerge once more from who knows where.  They will open their portals on the 20th of April for ten days of everything Fantastical your imagination can bring to the Fairelands, this is, in my opinion, THE BIGGEST and BEST event in Second Life.

The Fantasy Faire has an everything you need to know website - HERE where you can read up, VOTE for your Fairelands King, Queen, and Chancellor, Tune into the Fairelands Radio and find the entertainment guides, read up on the sponsors and ........oh my, so much more!

Also handy is the guide to the Fairelands and who will be where - Enjoy and have fun - Shop and donate what you can as we would love to beat last year's target and make a whole new one to beat next year!  Relay for Life helps and does not just affect you, or I, our families, our loved ones, our colleagues, our neighbours and strangers around us on an hourly and daily battle so please help where you can, there will be donation pots all over the Fairelands as well as all items being sold through the RFL Vendors donate 100% to RFL - so please, lets kick that target into the hat!

Shopping - To your heart's content - Disregard your inhibitions, shop until you drop and slap up those RFL Vendors in every store, there will be everything from Skins to Clothing, Jewelry, Builds and Decor, Weapons, Potions, Lotions, Hair, Cosmetics and Nails to so much much more. Shopaholics paradise ♥  Guilt free as it is all for a good cause ♥

Keep your eye on the Programme of events which will be awesome.  From The Literary Festival programmes, The Arts and Entertainments events, Roleplay, The Fairelands Radio, The quiet moments of walking about in amazement as you see a Giantess walking with a Unicorn chatting together, with a D'orc doing some shopping with a Merperson bathing in the sun on the shallows, Anything and everything is possible at The Fantasy Faire

There will be Role Play - in fact there shall be 6 Roleplay groups at the Faire this year, Sanctuary RP Community, Neo Victoria,  Lilypods (who have previously appeared as the Rickety Weasels and the Children of Echtra) who have all appeared before and three newer groups from Outbreak, the elven realms of Steelwood, and Ynys Seamaide. All these groups will be welcoming of Audiences, people wanting to take part and remember to have fun - they do not all bite!

All of this alongside the best Auctions, Silent Auctions and Jail and Bail on the grid and more - THE QUEST - The Quest is an in-depth, fun hunt, SO grab a friend and have a blast doing on of the best hunts ever - The designers are fantastic in their generosity towards the hunt and it really is fantastic fun

Aerlinniel, Radon and I did our relay picture like this because Cancer pulls lives apart. My great friends Rachel, Jude, Melody and Regina and many many more have had their lives life ripped apart by cancer same as I have done in many ways, besides myself what seems like 100's of years ago now in another life but was actually in my teens, more recently My Mother who has now passed away - not from Cancer - and My StepFather - Who did - to many friends and family over the years whose lives have been ripped apart by cancer, I know Radon has personally lost family members and friends also.

This beautiful Pose made by Auryn Beorn from [Black Tulip] Poses, to me was a great pose for this purpose in my mind to show that someone can easily be ripped apart by something, in this case Cancer.

I read somewhere recently that the hardest words to hear are "you have cancer", but they are not, the hardest words to hear NOW thanks to all the cancer research are "But there is nothing we can do".  If we all Relay as much as possible then one day I hope the hardest words will not have to be those again.

Relay this year please like you never have before and next year more and so on, wether your life has been touched by this dreadful disease or not ....please
